FactoryTalk® Metrics is a complete system for efficiency monitoring and event collection and analysis. FactoryTalk Metrics Line Edition is based on FactoryTalk Metrics, it is a pre-packaged application that helps you monitor your operations and drive improvement. Both products use FactoryTalk Metrics for data collection and Report Expert for reporting.

Servers
Servers are licensed based on a workcell count. All servers contain Microsoft® SQL Server 2005 Standard Edition, one SQL Service Client Access License (CAL), and one FactoryTalk Metrics Authoring Client license. Workcell counts are additive when installed on a single server computer.

Authoring Client
An Authoring Client license is required for each user who will configure the FactoryTalk Metrics application or create/modify QuickWeb reports. One is included with each FactoryTalk Metrics Server.

Runtime Clients
Runtime Client licenses are required for all users who access "live" FactoryTalk Metrics or FactoryTalk Historian Classic reports through a Web browser, HMI, or any other means. These are concurrent user licenses and include the appropriate SQL Server 2005 license. Unlimited-user versions are available for 1-, 2-, or 4-CPU systems. One unlimited version is available with no SQL Server license. All Runtime Clients can be used with either FactoryTalk Historian Classic or FactoryTalk Metrics.

- FactoryTalk Metrics LE
FactoryTalk Metrics Line Edition (LE) provides real-time information that enables manufacturers to "measure" and "improve" the performance of their manufacturing assets. Performance metrics and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) provide the necessary information to empower plant personnel to make informed decisions around optimizing assets within a production facility, or across a manufacturing enterprise.
FactoryTalk Metrics LE captures, analyzes, and displays key performance metrics associated with production lines, machines, and workcells. Reports have been configured and grouped to facilitate the analysis process — extensively analyze availability, throughput, and quality losses through an intuitive web-based reporting interface.
